We have owned our land here for the last 18 years but have lived here for the last 9 years.
We spent most of our adult lives in Milwaukee.
Bill did hunting here and bought this land when it was up for sale. The apple trees came with the land and we needed to decide what to do with them. The trees were still producing good fruit so with no knowledge we decided to grow apples.
We enlisted the aid of a local grower, P. J. Lomas. So with his help and a little luck we started our business.
Needless to say we were very unorganized but over the last 9 years we have fine tuned our selling business. We now have families who have been with us since the beginning. Our sons and their families love help us on busy weekends. We continue to be a small business as we started out as a hobby farm and progressed from there. With the help P. J. and his son Jim, who picks for us and helps Bill prune in the winter we hope to continue selling our apples to happy pickers.
Apples available for pick your own are: cortland, spartan, McIntosh, and Jonathan. We may or may not have Haralsons, please call to check later this year if you are interested. We have a limited amount of red delicious which are usually ready toward the middle of October. We also may have empires and galas but the trees are young and the crop may be limited.
